Tacos Ticos (Costa Rican Tacos) - Recipe


Taco Filling:

  • 0.5 kg cooked and shredded beef
  • 20 corn tortillas
  • 2 cups of shredded cabbage
  • 2-3 tomatoes, cut in cubes
  • fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • half cup of grated cheese
  • oil
  • Tabasco sauce


  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcester Sauce


Blend all the sauce ingredients together first. Then fill each tortilla with meat, roll half way and hold it with a toothpick. Fry in oil until golden and drain in paper towels. Top with the tomato cubes, cabbage, cheese and the sauce. Tabasco sauce if you like it hot. Serve immediately.
